WebJan 28, 2014 · I've owned an IPS monitor before this, but it was a Dell Ultrasharp U2410, so obviously a much much better monitor, and it has absolutely NO light bleed. Maybe that set my expectations a bit too high with a more budget IPS, but I'm a bit disappointed with the amount of light bleed on this thing. WebJun 21, 2024 · Backlight issues addressed: the IPS panels of days passed tended to have typical light bleed aka IPS glow. You see (sorry for the pun), IPS panels allow more light through than TN or VA panels, especially around the edges of the screen. That’s part of why they have more vivid colors, because there’s more light available to show said colors. However it should happen WAY less with a TN panel (one of my friends has a PG278Q and has no problems). Hmm i think i will send it back and get pg278. WebIPS monitors have better colors if bleeding/glow is very minimal and view angle is better, but if it will have big amount of bleeding/glowing, then i will have to go through the whole item return process till i will get my money back and get a TN monitor.
