The campsite was well maintained, with benches, a firepit, a great water source, and “bear cables.” (They were not in any way bear proof, but they do exist and are referred to as bear cables.)

I think people may opt to drive to the top instead of hike if they think they have a 9.4 hike ahead of them rather than 4.7.
