WebI think the answer is that the bblayers.conf file is intended to be specific to a user on a machine and only temporary. Once you have sorted out what layers you want, you should make a recipe that replaces most of the bblayers.conf contents. You can use $ {HOME}, $ {TOPDIR} and a few other substitutions but not relative paths. – TafT.
